Sr. Java Developer

We are looking for a Senior Java Developer for one of Greenville’s fastest-growing and most innovative organizations. This organization prides itself on company culture and employee satisfaction and was ranked as a top 50 organization within its industry.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience with a strong desire to learn
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming concepts
• Solid understanding of relational database design and querying concepts
• Solid understanding of Java JDK, JRE 7, and above
• Solid understanding of MySQL
• Familiarity with version control concepts
• Excellent communication skills
• Must be US Citizen or Green Card holder
• No C2C

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or computer engineering
• Exposure to web development using HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript
• Knowledge of client/server application development
• Knowledge of agile development methodologies
• Ability to excel working autonomously and in a team environment
• Ability and desire to travel

Responsibilities:

• Working with and assisting in leading an active team to develop, test, and maintain web-based business applications built initially in Java 7 and MySQL
• Preparing reports, manuals, and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of software
• Designing, developing, and unit testing applications in accordance with established standards
• Participating in peer reviews of solution designs and related code
• Packaging and supporting deployment of releases
• Working with teammates and outside consultants in the migration of older applications (Java 7) to newer and more efficient languages
• Developing, refining, and tuning integrations between applications
• Analyzing and resolving technical and application problems
• Adhering to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on time and on budget
• Providing third-level support to business users
