Job Description


  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, computer technology, information technology, or another job-related field or equivalent work experience
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Demonstrated experience as a technical editor in a federal, state, and/or commercial business environment
  • Strong knowledge of industry best practices for technical documentation and a solid knowledge of proposal life cycle components, activities, and tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to provide guidance to less experienced staff
  • Ability to work effectively on several projects simultaneously, independently from general guidance, and within groups or teams
  • Strong organizational skills with close attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including management, highly skilled technical staff, non-technical personnel, and external clients
  • Experience with:
    • Microsoft Office
    • Project
    • Visio
    • Adobe Acrobat Pro


  • Experience with:
    • Visible Thread
    • Adobe Creative Cloud application suite components
  • Familiarity with APMP (Association of Proposal Management Professionals) Body of Knowledge, Shipley methodologies along with proposal management tools such as Microsoft SharePoint or Previa
  • Ability to efficiently handle stressful situations and short notice assignments


  • Take ownership of the review and editing to ensure complete, compliant, responsive, and customer-centric content is delivered on time for federal, state, commercial business solicitations (RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, task orders, etc.), or corporate-related tasks
  • Analyze and update documentation and information, while ensuring consistency and availability to all employees and management of the organization for proposal response and corporate efforts
  • Provide editing revisions and work with management and staff to provide concise and directed feedback to improve response to requirements
  • Create materials for presentations and collaborate with marketing staff for graphic support tasks
  • Create, format, and maintain information on the team SharePoint site
  • Ensure content is kept up to date with a regular review cycle
  • Format new content to adhere to organization writing style guide standards and ensure the information follows the branding style guide
  • Collaborate with technical operations and contract staff in gathering, reviewing, and editing content prepared in support of proposal and corporate response efforts
  • Analyze content for concise, compelling, and customer-centric adherence to requirements associated with proposal and corporate response tasks
  • Develop compliance matrix to ensure capture of requirements
