Job Description


  • Post-secondary education
  • 3 years minimum experience as a logistics manager
  • Professional Logistics Designation preferred
  • Experience in operation and optimization of logistics automation:
    • Automated warehouse racking systems
    • Automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS)
    • Automated guided vehicles, automated reach trucks (AGVs, ARTs)
    • RFID
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work, and multitask
  • Advanced computer skills, to include all Office programs and MRP
  • Strong understanding of automation concepts and automated warehouse operational systems
  • Ability to communicate with ease both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems
  • Ability to track quality, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs, and overall operational efficiency
  • Ability to analyze quantitative data
  • Experience with automation, computer technology, and RFID as it pertains to the control of material handling and logistics
  • Ability to lead and manage a warehouse staff


  • Manage the entire supply chain, from end of production line to the customer location
  • Create and implement best practice logistics principles, policies, and procedures to improve operational and financial performance of warehouse operations
  • Continue to advance the use of automation and computer technology for material handling and warehouse operations
  • Work closely with other department leaders to ensure synergy in control of materials and finished goods
  • Negotiate rates and contracts and manage relationships with external transportation and logistics providers
  • Ensure all work undertaken and supervised is carried out safely and without injury
  • Ensure that all food safety issues are reported to the appropriate manager or supervisor
  • Assist in creation, maintenance, and review of food safety plans and other prerequisite programs
  • Maintain a safe and orderly warehouse
  • Perform management and control of inventories for all materials and finished goods stored in plant and outside warehouses, including cycle count oversight
  • Define responsibilities for and manage performance of all warehouse personnel
  • Manage labor costs and flex accordingly based on workload
  • Ensure quality, food safety, and all company policies and procedures are followed
  • Ensure all inventory is shipped in FIFO
  • Maintain disposal contracts and control of all material scrap shipped from the facility
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Review warehouse floor plan to optimize space, flow, and safety of operations annually
