Job Description

  • Must be a US citizen
  • 4-year¬†degree in accounting, technology, or other business discipline OR equivalent work experience
  • 3 years of experience in a combination of banking operations, accounting, technology, and technical user responsibilities
  • Experience with Encompass
  • Knowledge of banking operations, information, and systems, both mainframe and client-server based
  • Must be a self-starter with the drive to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
  • Must have strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, negotiating, and communication skills to analyze business problems and suggest and implement solutions for these
  • Must have strong documentation skills with the ability to create and update documentation for a variety of different audiences
  • Ability to deliver verbal presentations to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to establish priorities and organize assignments and to work effectively within timelines and under general supervision
  • Ability to cooperate and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with all levels of personnel, including customers, users, technical staff, and management
  • Ability to make sound decisions concerning system, application, and process changes
  • Ability to properly estimate resources needed for projects and time estimates for tasks
  • Quickly grasps business concepts and communicates effectively across teams
  • General knowledge of the mortgage process and specific knowledge of loan origination is preferred


  • Provide second-level production support for systems to assist in the resolution of incidents and queries in line with agreed operating-level agreements, collaborating with customer service and technology teams as appropriate
  • Use the incident reporting system (AssystWeb) to analyze incidents and queries and identify common trends to inform product backlogs and areas of improvement in support materials and training, and update these materials as required
  • Perform system maintenance tasks, including maintaining reference data, regular user access recertifications, testing of production and non-production systems following releases, and patching and other tasks as required; the testing activities may require a limited amount of out of hours work on a periodic basis
  • Provide support to cover new systems/applications, installation and integration of purchased systems/applications, modification enhancements/upgrades to existing systems/applications, and development of methods and procedures
  • Perform testing to resolve defects, manage change requests, and conduct and drive user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Act as a liaison between the IT development group and business units for the development and implementation of new systems and enhancement of existing systems
  • Evaluates new applications and identifies systems requirements
  • Evaluates new IT developments and evolving business requirements and recommends appropriate systems alternatives and/or enhancements to current systems
  • Prepare communications and make presentations on system enhancements and/or alternatives
  • Support production systems and employees
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the covered systems, applications, and processes to enable devising techniques for improved processes, workflows, and productivity through new development, standardization, simplification, redesign, and other procedural changes
  • Perform regular operational tasks related to data maintenance, system operations, and systems access
  • Participate in the development and testing, upgrades, and evaluation of systems, applications, and processes
  • Document these to ensure communication across business lines, especially with customer support
  • Design, develop, and/or update business recovery documentation, user procedures, and online help for users and customer support for assigned applications
  • Work with staff to assess and understand their needs and take action to facilitate changes to address those needs with resources and systems
  • Document requirements for changes to applications/systems
