Job Description


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, healthcare IT, or related field of study OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 3 years of experience in a clinical setting with at least 2 years of experience in clinical informatics
  • Analytically strong and familiar with a variety of clinical informatics concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required, including regular and frequent overnight travel
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet designated timelines for completion


  • Functions as a clinical super user and clinical system administrator
  • Provides analysis and support for clinical applications used throughout the clinical departments
  • Implements clinical system-related projects in collaboration with the CIO
  • Participates in communication with clinical staff related to assessing and defining clinical operational workflow, clinical system requirements, and solutions and makes recommendations
  • Prepares clinical reports on clinical quality measures for Meaningful Use in a timely and accurate manner
  • Assists in collecting clinical outcomes data and performs analysis in support of clinical process improvement initiatives
  • Provides clinical systems expertise and training to users as needed
  • Designs, develops, and maintains custom clinical content for the electronic medical records system, electronic dental record, or any clinical interface software as assigned
  • Provides detail analysis, validation, and correction of data within clinical applications, interface engine application, and associated modules as assigned
  • Performs clinical application monitoring and planning, utilization tracking, and reporting
  • Provides clinical application/system tuning when appropriate
  • Recommends and supports streamlining of processes to increase clinical system functionality and productivity
  • Acts as a resource for clinical systems industry knowledge and other support activities
  • Performs post-clinical system upgrade training to all providers
  • Provides clinical support and maintenance activities for clinical interfaces
  • Provides recommendations on how to best manage direct messaging, phone interface applications, phone messaging system, patient portal, and any other applications that are tied to clinical systems or appointment system; report any issues
  • Resolves clinical-related help desk issues assigned in a timely and thorough manner
