Will need to travel to Columbia, SC, on some occasions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certificate in interaction design, product design, graphic design, OR another UX design-related field
- 5 years of experience with UX and UI design for desktop and/or web applications
- Experience with WPF, XAML, JavaScript, CSS3, and HTML5 is a PLUS
- Experience with mobile application design on iOS and/or Android is a PLUS
- Knowledge of graphic design tools, such as Photoshop, Sketch, and Illustrator
- Expertise with UX tools, such as Balsamiq, Axure, Visio, OmniGraffle, UXPin, and Justinmind
- Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously, handling a fast-paced work environment, deadlines, and changing priorities
- Strong knowledge of current industry trends and user interface common practices
- Familiar with Scrum or other Agile development processes
- Strong understanding of business and user requirements, and the ability to address and advocate for the end-user’s experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong team player who can work with and support many different software teams
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with all capability teams to promote good, consistent UX/UI patterns and usage across product capability teams
- Manage work priorities for product teams
- Define epics for new software features, breaking them down into proper features and user stories, and ultimately managing and prioritizing the product backlog for the team
- Integrate UX/UI design style guide and establish design best practices
- Develop storyboards, mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
- Lead the design activities for various UI elements within the product suite
- Act as the user advocate during the development process, subjecting early-stage designs to usability testing or expert review, and offering implementation suggestions from a user-centered perspective
- Understand and solve functional problems for a variety of data management, visualization, and analytics user scenarios
- Rationalize design decisions to peers and stakeholders
