Qualifications:
- Ability to obtain a low-level U.S. security clearance, which requires a thorough background screening and U.S. citizenship
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or other job-related degree, or 4 years of job-related work experience OR 2 years of job-related experience plus an associate degree in computer science, information technology, or other job-related degree
- 8 years of server or other job-related experience
- Experience with Linux, Red Hat and/or SUSE, preferably on system Z (zSeries, z/VM, or z/Linux is ideal) required
- Experience with WebSphere Application Server, Liberty, and/or OpenShift are preferred
- Exposure to Oracle, DB2, and/or Mongo is preferred
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skill
- Ability to communicate technical issues with non-technical people
- Proficient with server technologies and platforms
- Deep understanding of relevant server hardware and software
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for operational tasks, including patching, change orders, OS, logs, break/fix, service requests, and more.
- Ensures that the design and integration of proposed solutions leads to the development and growth of the business through effective use of technology
- Facilitates the optimization of business unit performance by enhancing the alignment between business systems and information technology
- Evaluates new products, performs server problem resolution, and assists in the development and documentation of technical standards and interface applications
- Performs server planning, design, and engineering
- Determines feasibility from technical and economic perspectives
- Evaluates equipment specifications and process requirements to conceive a practical design
- Compiles and analyzes operational data and directs tests to establish standard for new designs or modifications to existing equipment, systems, or processes
