Data Analyst

Qualifications:

• Must be a US citizen or Green Card holder
• 3 years of experience in data analytics, data warehousing, and/or data science
• Experience/knowledge supporting BI Platforms like Power BI, Cognos BI, and Business Objects
• Proficiency in writing SQL queries
• Strong problem solving skills and attention to details with the ability to work both independently, as part of team
• Outstanding communication, organization, time management, and interpersonal skills
• Strong working knowledge of SDLC practices and procedures
• Demonstrated ability to organize materials and make presentations in front of a groups and senior management
• Understanding and/or experience in data science and machine learning
• Good project management skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
• Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products
• Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language

Responsibilities:

• Works independently on the most complex projects, at the highest technical level, of all phases of applications systems analysis activities
• Formulates or defines system scope and objectives, based on user needs
• Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems, considering computer capacity and limitations, operating time, and desired results
• Works with multiple business units, in multi-platform environments, and on multi-project assignments
• Guides and advises less experienced systems analysts
• Assists in the planning, design, and development of new analytical and data science applications and enhancements to existing applications
• Meets with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve business systems issues
• Creates systems models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to system programmers
• Coordinates and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews for modified and new systems
• Provides orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems
• Creates and delivers effective presentations to all levels of colleagues and peer groups
• Documents standards and procedures for various analytic platforms
• Develops test cases and validates test results
• Coaches and transfers knowledge to less experienced team members
• Proficiently performs assignments having the knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience needed to carry out all aspects of the job
• Exercises independent judgment and decision-making in planning, organizing, and conducting work assignments
