Job Description

Remote Opportunity!

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 4 years of experience with software UX/UI design
  • Understanding of design programs and tools, such as Figma, Miro, Maze, etc.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and a willingness to keep skills and industry knowledge current
  • Combination of both technical and business acumen
  • Strong strategic thinking, leadership, and decision-making abilities
  • Data-driven approach with strong analytical and cross-group collaboration skills
  • Deep understanding of user experience design principles and best practices
  • Proactive leader who anticipates and addresses issues/needs
  • Self-directed but also collaborative
  • Ability to understand business metrics and translate company goals and objectives into digital experiences
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to communicate ideas to developers and stakeholders (both internal and external)
  • Problem-solving skills to determine solutions to user interface challenges
  • Multi-tasking and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Attention to detail and mastery of information design
  • Willingness to travel (10-20% on average)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7 years of experience with software UX/UI design experience
  • Experience with K-12 and/or commercial safety and security technology
  • Experience with and understanding of software development philosophies and methodologies, such as Agile and Scrum


  • Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers, engineers, stakeholders, and users
  • Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and mock-ups
  • Design responsive graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs, and widgets for both web and mobile
  • Conduct usability testing
  • Develop and maintain user personas and usage scenarios
  • Assist with content development
  • Conduct competitor and customer analysis
  • Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders and capture feedback
  • Identify and troubleshoot UI/UX problems
  • Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback
  • Adhere to style standards on fonts, colors, and images
  • Follow established processes for performing work and recommend improvements to both processes and products
  • Incorporate customer feedback, usage metrics, and usability findings into design to enhance user experience
