As a Desktop Support Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Diagnosing and resolving IT hardware and software issues using a variety of communication methods (remote support, phone, email, tickets, etc.)
  • Installing, making changes, and repairing computer hardware and software
  • Following up with end users to ensure all problems are appropriately resolved
  • Learning and retaining the technical workings of the company’s available products by heart and continuously staying up to date with the latest features and product changes
  • Writing, updating, and improving training materials and procedures
  • Maintaining asset inventories to include requesting additional inventory to meet changing demands and disposing of equipment that has reached its life cycle date
  • Being comfortable working collaboratively with global teams and third-party vendors to resolve technical issues and share knowledge

Your qualifications as a Desktop Support Specialist will include:

  • 3-5 years of IT support experience
  • 2 years of experience focusing on computer hardware diagnosis and repair
  • Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing system
  • Ability to maintain PCs, laptops, printers, scanners, mobile phones, and other IT hardware
  • Strong Windows OS knowledge
  • Thorough working knowledge of hardware, software, and applications frequently used in a corporate enterprise environment
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize efforts based upon business impact
  • A customer-oriented mindset with the ability to remain even-tempered during stressful situations
  • Must have a desire to learn new technologies that can improve the end-user experience
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills

These certifications are preferred for this role:

  • ITIL certification (preferred)
  • PowerShell (preferred)
