Job Description


  • This job does require COVID-19 vaccination to comply with Executive Order 14042

  • Bachelor’s degree or associate degree (plus 2 years of job-related experience) in computer science, business administration, or job-related degree OR equivalent work experience
  • 6 years of IT business analysis experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in the concepts of the supported business unit
  • Demonstrated knowledge of standard industry practices and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and professionalism when communicating to all levels of leadership
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, including the ability to express complex technical and business concepts
  • Able to influence and negotiate solutions to business problems
  • Understands how IT affects an organization and is able to link it to business processes
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of system analysis tools
  • In-depth understanding of the customers’ business functions
  • Working knowledge of development and production environments, database systems and utilities, applicable programming languages, and system components
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing business, client, and project needs
  • Ability to recommend innovative process solutions to business problems
  • Ability to quickly learn new and different methods, systems, etc.
  • Working knowledge of personal computer applications, such as word processing, spreadsheets, Visio, PowerPoint, graphics, etc.
  • Good understanding of resource planning and organizational impacts
  • Planning, organizational, and project management skills
  • In-depth understanding of requirements gathering concepts
  • Ability to work with diverse teams


  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), HIPAA, LOMA
  • Experience with Visio, Project, or similar software, data mining using DB2, SQL, and/or other tools


  • Elicit and document user requirements to meet a business objective
  • Identify and validate requirements and organize the information into a logical document using business analysis models that is understood by the customer and information systems
  • Respond to questions and ensure understanding of why the business solution was chosen
  • Guide both technical and customer departments in the development of the systems
  • Ensure the accurate deployment of solutions through review of problem logs and assisting with test plans and test matrices and other analysis activities
  • Validate the business need for solutions to business problems and process improvements
  • Facilitate the transfer of knowledge about the big picture direction of the business units to others who support them
  • Provide input on the business direction for system changes
  • Mentor less experienced business systems analysts
  • Provide input and direction on estimates as requested by the estimating team
  • Assist project leader, if requested, to obtain customer approval on requirements
  • Lead joint requirements planning (JRP) sessions
  • Perform business gap analysis for prospective and current clients and customers
  • Provide business functionality input for scope and design documents
  • Provide input during the requirements prioritization process
  • Recommend innovative or alternative solutions to business problems and application workflow
  • Understand the end-to-end business workflows
  • Participate in joint application design (JAD) sessions
  • Perform and/or participate in user interface design activities
  • Verify selected test results at each defined phase
  • Work closely with the test designers for defect identification and the work request team for defect resolution
  • Review customer and test matrices to ensure all work request objectives are being tested
  • Recommend and suggest modifications where gaps are identified
  • Work with the test designer to define requirements for load test, if applicable
  • Assist and train technical staff and customers in the business functionality of the system applications
  • Demonstrate system use and corresponding process workflows for prospective clients and customers
  • Provide input to the customer in the development of operational procedures
  • Provide updated documentation to the business training area

Location: Columbia, SC
Will start remotely but will be required to be onsite once the COVID-19 policy is lifted.
