Job Description

We're hiring a Cyber Security Engineer to join our team in Columbia, SC. This role offers a hybrid schedule, with onsite work required Tuesday through Thursday.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain a low-level U.S. security clearance, which requires a thorough background screening and U.S. citizenship
  • Experience building and working with MLMs (Machine Learning Model)
  • AI/ML experience applied to cybersecurity use cases 
  • Development experience 
    • Python preferred 
    • PowerShell beneficial 
  • Cybersecurity engineering or analyst background 
  • Experience integrating or automating security tools

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in network security (Cisco ASA, IPS, VPN, RSA SecurID, PKI, cryptography), security controls for LAN/WANs, client-server, web-based systems, and databases
  • Experience with the configuration of security devices, such as firewalls, intrusion prevention, patch deployment, and risk assessment/vulnerability scanners
  • Previous SOC analyst/engineer experience
  • Certifications related to AI/Machine Learning

Key Responsibilities:

  • Integrate AI capabilities into existing security platforms 
  • Develop AI-driven automation and security workflows
  • Build and enhance security playbooks using AI
  • Work with both vendor-provided AI capabilities and internally developed AI solutions
  • Publish an AI threat detection catalog mapped to telemetry sources and deploy an initial prioritized detection set with a monthly tuning cadence
  • Reduce repeat false positives and improve time-to-triage/time-to-escalation for AI-related alerts through enrichment and tuning
  • Stand up baseline monitoring and anomaly thresholds for approved AI tools and deliver recurring executive-ready reporting on risky usage patterns and remediation
  • Publish AI-focused IR runbooks and validate via tabletop exercises; feed lessons learned into playbooks and detection tuning

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other job-related degree
  • Preferred licenses and certificates: CISA, CISM, CISSP

The hourly rate for this position is $61.85.
